Hi there! I’m John, aka The Septic Man, your go-to guy for home improvement and renovation advice.
But my passion for building and renovation has been a lifelong journey. I founded my own home remodeling and design company prior to my broadcasting career.
Over the years, I’ve authored a multitude of books on topics ranging from home remodeling to finding your dream residence and even a guide to historic homes across the United States. In short, my life revolves around architecture, particularly residential spaces.
My commitment to better housing extends beyond the screen and the page. I’ve contributed to a variety of causes focused on housing and preserving architectural history. I’ve collaborated with Habitat for Humanity to rapidly construct a home in Yonkers, New York — a project we also featured on TV.
Aside from that, I’ve also supported the National Alliance to End Homelessness for several years, aiding numerous organizations nationwide. Recently, I’ve been working on the restoration of Ernest Hemingway’s residence and its various collections at Finca Vigía, located near Havana, Cuba.
